Bestabsorb Universal Oil Binder is a lightweight, highly absorbent oil binder made from hydrophobic natural fibers for the rapid absorption of heating oil, diesel, motor oil and other oil-containing liquids.
Bestabsorb is suitable for use on solid surfaces as well as on water surfaces. Due to its water-repellent properties, the material preferentially absorbs oil-containing liquids while remaining buoyant on water.
Typical Applications
Bestabsorb is particularly suitable for:
- spilled heating oil and diesel
- motor, hydraulic and lubricating oils
- workshops and machinery areas
- heating and tank rooms
- industrial and storage areas
- oil contamination on paved or solid surfaces
- floating oil films on water surfaces
- precautionary storage for minor leaks and oil spills
High Absorption Capacity with Low Material Weight
The special natural-fiber structure provides high liquid absorption capacity while keeping the material itself comparatively lightweight.
A 50-liter bag weighs approximately 7 kg and, depending on the liquid absorbed and the specific application conditions, can absorb up to approximately 30 liters of oil-containing liquid.
Its low weight makes the material easier to handle, store and collect after it has become saturated.
Hydrophobic and Buoyant
Bestabsorb is water-repellent and can therefore also be used to absorb oil-containing liquids from water surfaces.
The binder remains buoyant on water and can absorb oil and fuel films floating on the surface.
This also makes Bestabsorb suitable for situations in which spilled oil has accumulated together with water.
How to Use Bestabsorb
Spread Bestabsorb evenly over the spilled oil-containing liquid.
Allow sufficient time for the material to absorb the liquid. For larger accumulations, the binder can be worked in carefully and additional material can be applied as required.
Continue the application until no free oil-containing liquid remains.
The saturated binder must then be collected completely and disposed of appropriately.
Oil on Concrete, Screed or Masonry
Bestabsorb is primarily intended to absorb free or spilled oil-containing liquids.
If heating oil, diesel or mineral oil has already penetrated a porous mineral substrate such as concrete, screed, plaster or masonry, an oil binder alone is not sufficient to remove the contamination within the building material.
After the free liquid has been absorbed, remaining contamination in mineral substrates can be deep-cleaned using Omnixol FX100 .

Use on Water Surfaces
Due to its hydrophobic properties, Bestabsorb can also be used on water surfaces.
The material is applied to the affected area, where it absorbs oil-containing liquids floating on the surface while remaining buoyant on the water.
The saturated binder must then be completely removed from the water surface and disposed of according to the substance it has absorbed.
Unknown Liquids
When dealing with unknown chemicals or liquids, compatibility with Bestabsorb should be checked before use.
Storage
Store Bestabsorb in a dry location protected from direct moisture.
Its low weight and high absorption capacity make the binder suitable for precautionary storage in heating and tank rooms, workshops, vehicles and commercial or industrial facilities.
Disposal
The correct disposal method for used binder depends on the liquid that has been absorbed.
Bestabsorb saturated with heating oil, diesel, motor oil or other contaminants must be collected and disposed of in accordance with the applicable local regulations.
